Horse Boarding at JRF

JRF Equestrian offers several boarding options designed to meet the needs of different horses. With two properties and hands-on daily care, we focus on providing a safe, comfortable environment where horses can thrive.

Starting at $850 per month

Full Care Boarding

Our main barn provides a structured, premium environment for horses that are actively ridden or in training. Horses receive consistent daily care, regular feeding, and full access to our top-tier riding facilities.

  • Feeding: Grain and hay fed 2x daily; supplements administered 1–2x daily.

  • Stall & Care: Individual stall with daily cleaning and fresh shavings.

  • Blanketing: Changed 1–2x daily based on weather.

  • Storage: Private tack locker and space for a stall-side tack trunk.

  • Amenities: Use of 2 lighted riding arenas and a round pen.

  • Water: Fresh water provided at all times in both stall and turnout.

Pasture & Retirement Boarding

Pasture boarding allows horses to live outdoors in a natural environment with shelter and regular supervision. This option works well for horses that thrive with more turnout and open space.

  • Environment: Large, grassy pastures with sturdy shelters in every field.

  • Feeding: Grain and hay fed 2x daily with fresh water available at all times.

  • Weather Protection: Stalls are available for pasture residents during periods of severe or inclement weather.

  • Supervision: Constant daily monitoring by our experienced staff to ensure health and safety.

  • Amenities: Access to a lighted riding ring and a round pen for light work or groundwork.

Our Approach to Care

We believe horse care comes first. Each horse is monitored daily, and we focus on maintaining consistent routines that keep horses healthy and comfortable. Boarding a horse is a big decision, and owners should feel confident knowing their horse is in good hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does boarding include?

Boarding at JRF includes grain and hay fed twice per day, fresh water available at all times, and daily stall cleaning (for Full Care). We also provide blanketing once or twice per day depending on the weather. If a horse requires additional hay, specific supplements, or special feed, these can be accommodated at the owner's expense.

Do you have a veterinarian and farrier that work with the barn?

Yes. JRF works with a resident veterinarian and farrier who regularly service the horses at the barn.

Do you feed supplements?

Yes. We are happy to feed supplements provided by the horse’s owner.

What kind of grain and hay do you feed?

We feed high-quality Timothy hay along with Blue Seal Sentinel LS and Blue Seal Sentinel Lifetime grain. Additionally, horses receive beet pulp once per day. If your horse requires a different brand or specialized feed, it can be provided at the owner's expense.

Can I schedule a visit to see the barn?

Absolutely! we would love to show you around both our properties. Please contact us to schedule a visit so we can ensure a staff member is available to walk you through the barns.

Do you offer different boarding environments?

Yes. We offer two distinct environments to suit different needs:

  • Full Care 8140 Mitchell Mill Rd A structured environment with individual stalls and daily turnout.

  • Pasture & Retirement 8401 Mitchell Mill Rd: A natural, open-space environment with large pastures and group shelters.

Are stalls available during severe weather?

Yes. Both of our properties feature sturdy shelters and have stalls available to ensure the safety and comfort of all horses during extreme weather.
